This established course in a tranquil setting within the Vale of York is a pleasing test featuring natural dykes that occasionally provide additional challenges on a number of holes! Beware the ‘spectacle’ bunkers on the seventh, miss club here and you may have serious problems! The par 3 fifth, a delightful example of Steel’s majesty when it comes to course design, is played over a pond which was originally constructed to hold water ballast for the R100 airship built on this site. Boothferry is well worth a visit, with easy access from the B1228, 3 miles north of Howden (exit M62 at junction 36), or 2 miles west off the A614 from Holme-on-Spalding-Moor. |
